In July 2016, Mullahey Ford of Arroyo Grande generously featured Operation Surf in its television promotion, as a part of an ongoing effort to support veterans and armed forces. Mullahey Ford pledged to donate a percentage of all cars sold to the program.

"California Central Coast native Van Curaza is on a mission to serve these unsung heroes, by teaching them how to surf with one-on-one instruction by the best in the region. Curaza owns Van Curaza Surf School in Avila Beach, but was first exposed to adaptive surf lessons for wounded active duty soldiers and veterans through his participation with Operation Comfort and the Brooke Army Medical Center/ Center For The Intrepid in 2007, two other organizations that aim to aid physically and psychologically wounded veterans."

Amazing Surf Adventures and Operation Surf returned to San Luis Obispo Country Club on June 27th, 2016, to host the 6th Annual Charles D. Perriguey Jr. Charity Golf Tournament. All proceeds went toward the Operation Surf program, with over $60,000 raised at the event! On-Course Food was provided by F. McLintock's.

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- Operation Surf Santa Cruz 2016, a program aimed at helping rehabilitating service members and veterans through learning to surf, took place in the cities of Santa Cruz and Capitola April 12-18. Twenty participants, many amputees, arrived at the Monterey Bay from the Brooke Army Medical Center, Texas, the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Florida-based Explosive Ordnance Disposal Warrior Foundation and other veteran affairs hospitals and international veterans groups. Operation Surf spent their last two days of surfing at the coastal city of Capitola where they were well taken care of by a small army of volunteers that included service members from Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, located in neighboring Monterey.

We returned to Cocoa Beach, FL, to provide our Operation Surf clinic to a new group of heroes from March 1st through March 7th, 2016. Our program was carried out with the combined help of trained surf instructors, driven past participants, and gracious sponsors in the Cocoa Beach community.

Severely wounded active duty and veteran service members from various branches of the U.S. military who served in Afghanistan and Iraq will take part in an epic life-changing experience at beaches across the California Coast. Through the healing power of the ocean and surfing, these wounded heroes to whom we owe so much, will overcome challenges and build a new understanding of their life’s potential. Van Curaza Surf School will be hosting the 4th Annual Operation Surf Clinic in Pismo Beach, CA from September 3, 2009 through September 8, 2009. Operation Comfort (operationcomfort.org) will be flying into the Central Coast 15 wounded soldiers who are recovering from injuries and currently reside at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. These soldiers will be staying at the Sea Venture Resort in Pismo Beach, CA during the Event. Van Curaza Surf School will host a 5 day event with 3 days devoted to the Surf Clinic for the soldiers at Pismo Beach, CA on September 4, 2009, September 5, 2009 and September 6, 2009. The Custom House will be hosting a luau for the soldiers, participants and volunteers for the Event on September 6, 2009 at 4pm. Black Lake Golf Course is going to host a Learn to Golf Clinic for the soldiers on September 7, 2009. The soldiers fly back to the Brooke Army Medical Center on September 8, 2009. Support is still needed and Van Curaza Surf School is asking you to help sponsor this Event by gifting $1,000.00 to help make this Event the best experience possible for the soldiers. In return for your contribution, your company's business logo will be printed on shirts being printed by Billabong for the Event. Your company's business logo will also be printed on posters. There will be media coverage during the entire Event and your company will be mentioned as a sponsor twice daily. Your company will also be added onto the website of operationsurf.com as a sponsor link. This Event was featured on November 11, 2006 on CNN by Lou Dobbs. The Associated Press printed the event in 1500 different news publications and National Geographic featured the Event in the December 2006 issue.
