Operation Surf Santa Cruz 2017

BROUGHT TO YOU BY TOYOTA

Amazing Surf Adventures is excited to announce  Operation Surf Santa Cruz, taking place March 30th through April 5th, 2017! This event is held in support of the men and women whom have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom. Severely wounded active duty and veteran service members from various branches of the U.S. military who served in Afghanistan and Iraq will take part in an epic, life-changing experience at beaches across the Santa Cruz coast. Through the healing power of the ocean and surfing, these wounded heroes, to whom we owe so much, will overcome challenges and build a new understanding of their personal potential.

For many participants, the trip to Operation Surf is their first time leaving the hospital since being injured in Iraq or Afghanistan, making this unique and highly effective healing tool an invaluable part of their early recovery. At previous Operation Surf Santa Cruz events, the wounded heroes have been astounded at the outpouring of love and appreciation from the Santa Cruz community and its many volunteers. Several opportunities exist for community involvement

The help of our local community members is what makes this entire event possible.

When our wounded heroes arrive at the airport to hundreds of supporters waving American flags and holding signs thanking them for their service, it sets the tone for the entire week. Volunteers at the beach, in the water and at other key support roles are an invaluable component of our cause. Click the volunteer link above if you would like to help out!

Operation Surf 4 Veterans 2016

Amazing Surf Adventures is hosting Operation Surf 4 Veterans throughout Fall of 2016, October 17th through the 23rd.

The immense success of our weeklong surfing clinics for our active duty wounded heroes motivated us to take an even closer look at our local vets in need. Operation Surf 4 Veterans (OS4V) aims to unite local veterans of San Luis Obispo County by focusing on four (4) elements of sustained recovery: 1) Mentorship; 2) Family Support; 3) Brotherhood; and 4) Surfing (as a healthy, recreational outlet).

This six-month program is dedicated providing the opportunity for a class of ten veterans to bond, keep each other accountable, move forward in life with a new perspective and surf. Educational ocean trainings, mentorship, and a new found brotherhood are the tools for the continued recovery of our country’s heroes.

ASA began this program in June 2015 with its pilot group, which was hugely successful.

The help of our local community members is what makes this entire event possible.

Each class is supported by a mentor who provides guidance and leadership throughout the six-month program. Mentors are veterans and motivated, inspirational leaders with the ability to perform administrative work. This includes coordinating surfing and learning activities, recommending and supporting lifestyle changes, and documenting lessons learned.

Operation Surf Cocoa Beach

SPONSORED BY

VPSI

Since 2008, Operation Surf has reached the lives of over 300 service men and women through its California-based events. Last year, we took our program to Florida, and it was a resounding success. We are thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Operation Surf Cocoa Beach, Florida in March 2016. Every location we add to the circuit allows us to help more wounded heroes. We are excited to offer you the opportunity to be a sponsor, volunteer, or supporter during the second wave of Operation Surf Cocoa Beach.

Operation Surf Cocoa Beach 2016 will take place from March 1st through the 7th. Severely wounded active duty and veteran service members from various branches of the U.S. military who served in Afghanistan and Iraq will take part in an epic life-changing experience.

During the event, they receive support from not just our team, but from the community of Cocoa Beach. Last year, our wounded heroes were astounded at the outpouring of appreciation from the Space Coast locals.

The help of our local community members is what makes this entire event possible.

Stoked 2 Surf

Our next Stoked 2 Surf camp will be held from June 10th through the 12th, 2016, in Avila Beach. If you would like to volunteer or have a child who has been affected by cancer, please contact us using the links above.

We are currently raising funds for this 3 day camp and are always looking for community sponsors.

Our 3 day program starts with a meet-n-greet BBQ and two full days of surfing and fun. Each program hosts up to 15 children. S2S has a fantastic variety of fun activities that include exploring hidden caves only accessible by epic paddle adventures; jumping off a reef into the big blue; learning about Avila’s great tide pools; and seeing the magnificent sea creatures. Surf days begin with stretching, dry-land surfing basics, morning surf session, lunch with “circle talk” (ocean education or free talk) and an afternoon surf session (or activity depending on tide). With a fun graduation on the last day for all family members, S2S creates lasting memories, new friendships and provides much needed relief to the entire family. Meals, equipment and surf instruction will be provided. There is no cost to the child or family.

This program is for children in San Luis Obispo County that have survived, currently have, or have a family member affected by cancer. The Stoked to Surf team includes highly qualified surf instructors, volunteers from the cancer community, a licensed therapist and several partnered organizations dedicated to the success of this program.

We invite you to be a part of this Amazing Surf Adventure.
